Membership is open to all artists, designers and craftspeople who need the space, facilities and equipment to bring their work to life.
Members have 24-hour access to the workspace, including woodworking, and printmaking equipment. (Equipment training is required and will be provided by volunteers.)There are currently 5 basic levels of membership:
Basic Membership, $135/mo. includes access to all tools and equipment, an 8' x 8' semi-private wall of shelves for storage, the common work areas, computers and shops.
Full Membership, $265/mo. includes access to all the tools and equipment, a private 5' x 7' x 8' storage bay and the use of the common work areas, computers and shops.
Studio Membership, $320/mo. includes access to all the tools and equipment, and a private, white-walled studio space.
Part-Time Membership, Only $80/mo includes acces to all tools and workspace.
NEW! >> Daily Rates use the printmaking workshop or large open work space by the day! (sorry, not the woodshop yet...) $35/day or $60/weekend.
There is a yearly fee of $300 for all Basic, Full, and Studio Members, a $200 yearly fee for Part-Time memberships, and no member fee for daily use. To make a reservation for daily use please email what your intended use is and your requested days to: info@gowanusstudio.org
An email requesting daily use does not constitute a reservation. A representative will contact you promply with a confirmation of your reservation. Thanks!
Application Process
The Studio accepts members all year, and we encourage our members to stay for at least 1 year. There is no limit to how long you can be a member!HOW TO JOIN
1. Fill out our Online Application or Download and fill out the application to the left,
2. Submit your online application, or mail your Downloaded application to info@gowanusstudio.org, along with a pdf of your CV and Resume, and 6 Low-Res Images of your work.
3. If you have a web portfolio, you may simply send the URL along with your application instead of including 6 images.

The Studio provides financial support for ambitious creative projects. All members are eligible and encouraged to propose big ideas in need of funding.The projects The Studio would most like to bring to life will serve the public, the environment or art community and incorporate disciplines outside of the member's expertise.
